The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union has announced the suspension of a series of rail strikes, which were set to take place across the UK rail network.
The RMT National Executive Committee has taken the decision to suspend all industrial action on Network Rail following receipt of a new offer from the employer.
The suspension of the strikes will allow for further discussions and negotiations to take place, which will hopefully lead to a fair and equitable settlement for rail workers.
The suspension of the rail strikes is a positive development, which will be welcomed by commuters and rail workers alike. The RMT has shown its commitment to securing a fair deal for rail workers, and the rail companies have acknowledged the importance of treating workers with respect and fairness. It is hoped that negotiations will continue in good faith, leading to a resolution that is satisfactory for all parties involved.
There is, at the moment, no change in the planned strike action to be taken by RMT members against the 14 train operators represented by the Rail Delivery Group on 16, 18, 30 March and 1 April.
